I dive into the world of electric bikes. Personally I have some trouble with it because it makes me feel like an old-fashioned bicycle. But fair's fair, when my sports bike was being repaired, I got a loaner electric bike. Fortunately you could not see anything, haha. Cycling was easier, yes. But you have to keep cycling. You can't just sit back and relax. I then ask myself, when should I buy an electric bike? I already have an agreement with myself that I only take the car if I have to go on the highway. Groceries I have delivered online by the AH. So I take the bike to the horse or if I forgot something online. I can do that just fine with the regular bike. Yet if I wanted to make longer trips with my partner, I think an electric bike would be very nice. Since I don't have a (cycling) partner, that's out of the question too. I think it would be cool to have a speed pedelec so that you don't have to take the freeway but can cruise along at 45 km per hour. Again, you have to ride a bike yourself. Hmm I would like to experience the difference. The speed pedelec has a moped plate but can also be driven with a car license. I myself fall into the category as long as the bike looks cool. It has to be fast, technically perfect and in terms of design it has to be beautiful. The disadvantage of this taste is that it also has a price tag. This story has no end. That's what makes an online article so nice, there is literally and figuratively movement in it. I'm going in search of the gems among the electric bikes.
Ik neem een duik in de wereld van elektrische fietsen. Ik heb er persoonlijk wat moeite mee want er bekruipt mij het gevoel van een ouwe lullenfiets. Maar eerlijk is eerlijk toen mijn sportieve fiets in reparatie was, kreeg ik een leen elektrische fiets. Gelukkig zag je er niets van haha. Fietsen ging wel gemakkelijker, ja dat wel. Maar je moet wel blijven fietsen. Je kunt niet even achterover leunen. Ik vraag mij dan af, wanneer zou ik een elektrische fiets kopen. Ik heb al de afspraak met mezelf dat ik de auto alleen pak als ik de snelweg op moet. Boodschappen laat ik online bezorgen door de AH. Dus ik pak de fiets naar het paard of als ik online toch iets vergeten ben. Ik kan dat prima met de gewone fiets. Toch denk ik als ik langere tochten zou willen maken met mijn partner dat een elektrische fiets dan heel fijn is. Aangezien ik geen (fiets) partner hebt valt dat ook af. Het lijkt mij wel weer gaaf als je een speedpedelec hebt waardoor je de snelweg niet pakt maar even met 45 km per uur binnendoor gast. Ook hier geldt, je moet zelf ook fietsen. Hmm ik zou het verschil weleens willen ervaren. De speedpedelec heeft een brommerplaatje maar mag je met je autorijbewijs ook rijden. Ik val zelf in de categorie als de fiets er maar vet uitziet dat heb je mij al enthousiast. Hij moet snel zijn, technisch perfect en qua design om door een ringetje te halen. Nadeel van deze smaak is dat daar dan ook een prijskaartje aan hangt. Dit verhaal heeft nog geen eind. Dat is zo fijn aan een online artikel, er zit letterlijk en figuurlijk beweging in. Ik ga op zoek naar de pareltjes onder de elektrische fietsen.
Yes my eye immediately fell on Van Moof. Sleek design and full of gadgets, Google support, alarm. Well just very nice and then for less than 2000 euros! I now have this one as a starting point. I am going to look for a competitor. In terms of design and technology. I will be back!

Ja mijn oog viel meteen op Van Moof. Strak design en vol snufjes, Google ondersteunend, alarm. Nou gewoon heel mooi en dan voor nog geen 2000 euro! Ik heb nu deze als uitgangspunt. Ik ga op zoek naar een concurrent. Qua design en techniek. Ik kom terug!
Speed Pedelac bike
Most of these fast e-bikes reach speeds of up to 45 km/h. For the law, they therefore no longer fall under the category of bicycles, but are considered mopeds. This means that you can only ride them on public roads with a yellow license plate and the corresponding insurance. While the motors in normal electric bikes usually have a power output of 200 to 250 Watts, this can be as much as 500 Watts in these turbo e-bikes. So they can easily reach speeds of an average moped. So even though in the Netherlands we are not so used to wearing helmets during our daily rides, on these types of bikes they are - not without reason - mandatory!
In the coming years we will see more and more of these fast electric bikes. As an alternative to the car when commuting, as a vacation bike for long distances, as an extra strong e-mountain bike and who knows what else is in store for us.

All Stromers have hydraulic disc brakes and Schwalbe BigBen tires. The light carbon fork finishes it off, or choose a suspension fork if you want even more comfort. Not really necessary as the thick tires already dampen most bumps quite well. Depending on the number of gears you want, choose either the Elite or Platinum model.
With two different batteries to choose from. You can also go for the ST 1 , where you can choose from three different motor types . Mountain 25 as Pedelec (25 km/h) and Mountain 33 )33 km/h and Power 48 as Speed Pedelecs (45 km/h).
Klever X-Speed

Voted Speed Pedelec of the Year 2018. The Klever X Speed e-bike is a special case. Not a standard bicycle frame on which a motor has been put, but a frame that has been built especially for the proprietary Biactron system. This results in an extremely robust and rigid electric bike. An e-bike that can reach 45 kilometers per hour in no time at all. Thanks to the 600W motor in the rear wheel, combined with wide and light rolling 27.5 inch Super Moto X tires. There is a large 570Wh battery on board, with an option for a spare battery in an Ortlieb bag on the rear carrier. Or an even stronger battery for which you obviously have to pay extra. The battery sits nicely in the middle of the frame. Good for balance and protection. This Klever X Speed has a regeneration mode. Especially useful if you live in hilly areas. When riding downhill for longer periods the battery is topped up by the rotating rear wheel...free power! Do not expect too much of it in the Netherlands by the way.

Dutch fast e-bike, a wonderful bike to quickly ride to work. With the low positioned middle engine a good road holding, which is nice at speeds of around 40km/h.
The bike is supported by a Bosch Performance motor with a 500Wh battery. The derailleur ensures smooth shifting between the 10 Shimano Deore gears. There is also a model with a Nuvinci hub. The navy blue aluminum frame is nicely finished and also ensures that the bike is not too heavy. 22.5 kilos is a nice weight!

Speed Pedelac fiets
De meeste van deze snelle e-bikes halen snelheden tot wel 45 km/u. Ze vallen daardoor voor de wet niet meer onder de categorie fietsen, maar worden beschouwd als brommer. Dat betekent dat je er alleen mee op de openbare weg mag rijden met een geel kentekenplaatje en de bijbehorende verzekering. Waar de motoren in de normale elektrische fietsen meestal een vermogen van 2oo tot 250 Watt hebben kan dit in deze turbo e-bikes wel oplopen tot 500 Watt. Daarmee halen ze dus probleemloos snelheden van een gemiddelde brommer. Dus ook al zijn we in Nederland niet zo gewend aan het dragen van een fietshelm tijdens onze dagelijkse ritjes, op dit soort fietsen zijn ze -niet zonder reden- verplicht!
Dit soort snelle elektrische fietsen gaan we de komende jaren steeds meer zien. Als alternatief voor de auto in het woon-werk verkeer, als vakantiefiets voor lange afstanden, als extra sterke e-mountainbike en wie weet wat ons verder nog te wachten staat.
